Sai Yok waterfall

The Sai Yok Yai waterfall consists of a park area and some waterfalls where the amount of water varies by season. The waterfalls are well marked on road 323, so they are easy to find. From the road you drive 2 Km down to the river where the car is parked. Here you can buy food and other refreshments. There are usually more people trying to rent a boat here, but I prefer to rent it down by the river, where it is possible to pry about the price.

Down by the river there is a new bridge, a bridge that was consecrated in 2010. The old wood was exciting to walk on, but it swayed something back and forth. A trip on the river consists of a trip in both directions, where you can see the magnificent landscape, all the houseboats rented to tourists, and of course the waterfalls. During the winter months, several of the waterfalls are not so "wild" I revisited the park on December 4, 2022.

The path from the parking lot to the river is approx. 400 meters long, and goes through beautiful nature, including you can see a lot of small streams that end at the waterfalls

There are a variety of tropical trees, for example. This with its many roots supports the tree solidly.

The area has a very large amount of houseboats which can be rented for one or more days. Other of the houseboats are furnished as floating restaurants.

Here you can see the houseboat close, ready for a refreshing dip under the waterfall. If you jump into the water here, you must be aware that there is a strong current.

The current is strong, so when one of the houseboats has to be moved, something has to be done with the long boat to get it back in place.

The area directly in front of the waterfall has been cleared of trees and bamboo, so that you can now see the waterfall much better from above

Here, Bo and Charlotte are seen in the middle of the waterfall. Just 30 meters further on, the water drops 20 meters into the River Kwai

These hanging plants hang on other branches and grow up their trunks, some true parasitic trees.
